Ambergate Carnival Sponsors 2009

Derbyshire Community Foundation is a non-profit organisation which provides independent funding for voluntary community action throughout Derbyshire. DCF’s Grassroots Grant supports a broad range of community and voluntary groups with a variety of different costs. Ambergate Carnival has been successful in their application for assistance with their facilities hire for 2009. The grant covers the costs of items like the marquee, lighting and seating for the Weekend.

"The support from DCF is fantastic as it enables the Committee to put on a great event for the community, safe in the knowledge that our core costs are going to be covered. We will carry on with all of our fundraising efforts so that we can use the money that we raise to organise some very special displays and events."

The Carnival Committee is also very pleased to acknowledge the donation of £500 from Geoff Carlile's Community Leadership Fund. This will help to ensure the success of the previous year is continued. The donation is such a great boost for Carnival 2009 as it is equivalent to the income from two or three of our hard earned fund raising events. It will go towards something essential for the Carnival such as an entertainer or band.

In addition to funding assistance, help from locals businesses and members of the community is always welcomed and this year J C Balls will be supporting us again by donating their Dancing Digger team for the day as well as many other essential items.

Also, we'd like to thank The Hurt Arms pub for providing us with an excellent venue. Again this year the main carnival events will take place around the pub, which is superbly placed on the junction of the A6 and A610 in the village. Of course, being a great pub, they will also be providing liquid refreshments and food.

We also must not forget to thank Ashover Print for their support and the donation of the programme printing this year.
