Carnival 2011
Join the procession!
Come along and join the Carnival procession along the A6, from the Riverside Service Station to the Rec. Everyone will be meeting in the car park behind the garage at 1.30pm and we hope lots of people will dress up as their favourite pet or animal – you might win one of the prizes for best fancy dress!
The fun starts at the Recreation Ground from 2pm, where there’ll be lots of great stalls and attractions including:
Aistaguca – the UK’s only high energy Balkan Gypsy wedding band – prepare to be entertained!
Oreo and Friends – your chance to encounter a selection of exotic animals you’ve probably seen up-close before
Folk Friendzy – the local dance troupe is set to put on a fast moving and colourful show that is guaranteed to get your feet tapping
Willow Falconry – a fantastic display by a selection of birds of prey
There will also be lots of great stalls and attractions, including a raffle, climbing wall, bouncy castle, fairground rides, and archery. Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, including hot food, teas and cakes, and a bar.
And from 5pm until 8pm come and have fun at the free Family Disco – your chance to let your hair down – or just sit and relax with a drink and enjoy the music.
